GLYCODUR® F plain bearings have a steel backing on which a 0.2 to 0.4 mm thick porous layer of tin bronze is sintered. The pores of this layer are filled with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) mixed with friction-reducing additives in a rolling process. A 5 to 30 µm thick cover layer of the same material forms the running-in layer.
In GLYCODUR® F plain bearings, the good mechanical properties of sintered bronze are optimally combined with the good sliding and lubricating properties of a PTFE mixture. The material structure ensures good dimensional stability and thermal conductivity.
