In the linear guidance system with ball chain, the ball chain enables controlled circulation of the balls evenly distributed in the ball circuit, thereby preventing friction between the balls.
In addition, the lubricating grease, which is stored in the space between the ball circuit and the ball chain (lubricant reservoir), is applied to the contact surface between the balls and the ball chain by the rotation of the balls. This creates a permanent lubricant film on the ball surfaces. The risk of lubricant film breakage is thus minimized.
The compact design with low overall height and the 90° ball contact structure make the SSR the ideal type for horizontal applications.
