LOCTITE® 12868 is a ready-to-use, one-component, gel-form anaerobic surface sealant that cures in the absence of air at room temperature. Curing is slow to avoid gap-inducing product build-up between flanges. The product is used to seal close-fitting joints between rigid metallic gasket and flange surfaces and compensates for minor movement of the gasket flanges. Immediately after flange assembly, tightness to low pressures is provided. Typical application is as a surface seal for gear and axle housings.
